Fred is an active member in the communities in this region. Fred has dedicated his career to public service, winning the Presidents Pro-Bono Award during 2016 for his work with juveniles. Fred was one (1) of twenty-one (21) attorneys throughout the entire state of over 110,000 attorneys to receive the award. Fred has been widely recognized for his achievements, including being recognized on August 1, 2015, for board certification which was established by the Florida Supreme Court. Less than seven percent (7%) of Florida’s attorneys are board certified.
Fred wants to transition into the role of a judge to continue his efforts towards making a positive difference in people’s lives, and that continues to be his guiding principle. He desires to make a one-on-one difference. He is passionate about the law, about the pursuit of justice, and about the promotion of professionalism and civility in the practice of law. Fred is a dedicated public servant and is committed to spending the rest of his career in public service as a judge.

Meet Fred Koberlein
Fred is a native Floridian. His family moved to the Third Judicial Circuit in 1979. Fred obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and then began a career with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families. Fred continued his studies during the evening and weekends working towards a Master’s degree. During 2000, Fred initiated a career change and was accepted into law school at the University of Florida. Again, Fred worked part-time while attending law school full-time and graduated during 2003.
